Another Wedding

Hello friends,

Lately I have been thinking a lot about me writing this blog thingy. It has been a while since I started writing, but I've been loosing my main purpose... why did I begin to write anyway?

The only reason that I can think of is maybe I thought I could practice my English. Too bad not much improvement made. I'm still writing so-and-so (what da ya think?). Gotta agree my conversational English is much better than four years ago. Thanks America!

By the by, I started to love reading. Well, not many books I've read lately. Just some fiction. Nevertheless, I think I should be continuing writing, just so I don't forget how to write "socially". I know it is hard to meet friends nowadays, so this is a way to say hi to them and cathing up on things.

Earlier this afternoon, I went to another wedding of a Bloomington friend of mine in Bangi, Selangor. Too bad I couldn't go to her Kelantanese wedding ceremony last Saturday. It should have been something totally different.

Here in Malaysia, Malay weddings typically designed to show one's heritage and his/her hometown culture. That means, a wedding in Kelantan would not be as same as a wedding in Perlis, vice-versa.

The wedding ceremony that I went to today was traditionally called "Menyambut Menantu" (Translation: The In-Laws Reception), where the bride is greeted by the family and friends of the groom's. It was a small and simple ceremony. Saw some friends from IU and others there.

A toast to the bride and groom. May your joining brings fortune and happiness to your life. Congratulations!
